A fresh morning! I wake up in pain and move around like I'm underwater, unstiffening, putting all my hopes into the coffee I'm about to drink, disappearing my mind into the story of a book, then looking up to find myself surrounded by a world of colors & comforting jumble & flowers outside the window. Everything looks good. The day stretches out in front of me. Lists, plans, wishes, projects, duties, resolutions, all glow like neon & I pick a goal and some reward to anchor my future self, so that when it's done, I've fulfilled the day.

The list!

- Read a little.
- Turn on stretching reminders. Do all phys therapy stretches!
- Find the email with info for where to keep notes on the CBS awards. Write down a little for each story and book so far.
- Answer work emails
- Answer G. about DC trip (no)
- Answer help desk email. 2 hacked blogs so far.
- Run new account scripts and so on.
- Put the db-fixing script somewhere logical and document it
- Change the other upgrade instruction docs to reflect what I learned yesterday
- Call dentists
- Make eyedoctor appt
- Clear off desk, weed out books and put them on freecycle
- Start out on merging the code to upgrade to drupal 6
- Make bread in bread machine

I can't possibly do all that but it's nice to think over. By tonight I'll be begging the universe for mercy.

Anyone on my friends list want a few wordpress consulting jobs? I have some network members who need either WP upgrades, or recovery from blog being hacked, probably a couple of hours each to restore their posts, templates, etc. as outlined here or here. I can't do it right now as part of my job or as extra consulting, too busy. It's mostly mom bloggers who are very nice to work with and very grateful for the help. So if you're competent to do an upgrade and want some cash and won't charge an arm and a leg.... Let me know in comments or email.

I did a lot of the things on my list. did a good amount of hard work with concentrating.

Also, I ate lunch and watered the plants.

Stretched about half as much as I should have.

Super relieved I did not have to be in the office.

At about 3:30 I began to wilt. My hands hurt and I hurt all over. I need a nap. Difficulty concentrating.

Learned a lot more svn stuff and felt more confident with it. (But still fucked it up a bit.)

Chivvied Moomin a bit about doing his homework and focusing. He sat at the table and did it fairly well. 1 page of math and some reading. 20+ times telling him to get back there and finish the damn homework. When the homework gets to be more, good luck...

I'm so done. I could just go to sleep and have my day be done. There's nothing left in me. But i still have like 5 more hours before it's reasonable to go to sleep.

Ambitious to take Moomin out for start of school year ice cream cone though i'm too tired. Maybe ice cream cones here instead which Rook could obtain for us. Also rook wants to watch a movie which in theory sounds easy but which i also find tiring no matter how good the movie is I have to sit still for it for 2 hours and my eyes hurt.

I did not get to do the things I wanted to do this weekend or this week... but at least i did all the things I am supposed to do.

you see how my shine just wears right off over the day. I want to cry from exhaustion. i'm sort of mega-scale artistically frustrated from not writing enough (blogging or poetry). i wonder if a real nap in my day would help. I dont want to give up some of the things i do. I worry that I should and I also worry that instead of walking better I'm walking worse or losing general stamina. I didn't even leave the house today, it's a nice day, and i'm so tired and hurty and whiny. push harder and go out more? naps? go swim? better stretching? what to do.

Unbelievable amounts of wtf here. I had to laugh.

Many odd things have happened in sports the past 18 years - a sports column based on the premise that Jaycee Dugard will have missed a lot of sports and might want to get up to date on the amazing things that have happened. No, really?!

Best comment so far, "Next week, Mark Whicker laments that victims of 9/11 haven't gotten to watch a single episode of Lost. What a tragedy!"

Watched Chocolate (minus the torturey and very schmaltzy scenes) and it was fantastic! Use fast forward liberally in the beginning till you get to the fight scene where Zen is in the middle of the ring of onlookers catching apples. The fight scenes just get more awesome from there. The ice house, the warehouse, the meat market (ugh!), the million henchmen, the fight with the guy with spasticity or tourettes or something (which I liked - he was a kickass fighter) and then the giant fight on the balconies and shop signs by the ominous train. OMG, great fights by Yanin "Jeeja" Vismistananda and all the others in the movie.

So the premise is that her mom Zin ran with a gang, they told her dad to get lost and g o back to Japan, Zen is autistic and grows up to be a fantastic martial arts fighter (learning off movies, living next door to a Muay Thai school, and practice with her adopted brother, Moom, the guy who throws apples and goes with her to get money). Zin has to go into the hospital for chemo or something. Zen then goes around collecting money from all the gangsters who owe her mom from days past, and beating the hell out of them.

Yanin Vismistananda is an incredible martial artist who does amazing stunts!

Here is the first big fight scene where she's just warming up, holding a rag doll and wearing a long patchwork skirt, looking pissed off,
