Moomin and I both woke up early and stayed quietly in bed reading, quietly except for honking our noses loud and thoroughly -- morning allergies -- the privet tree next door is blooming. Moomin is still reading the Dragonomicon. I started and finished Meeks by Julia Holmes, which was excellent and horrifying. I shall nom it for the Tiptree. It's beautiful.

What if we really did make a Bechdel award? I'm sure we could do it. We should ask if we can use her name, though. We could kickstarter it. I need a motherboard and someone who knows how to write letters to publishers.

Today Moomin and I laid around reading and eating corn muffins and playing computer games. At 1 we left to go to a korean dance thing at the asian art museum. But we missed it... It was only 15 minutes not a long performance, and the J took a long time from construction delays. We went thru a farmers' market in Civic Center and I got zucchini bread. Moomin liked the main big phantoms exhibit that was a big black splash across space - on the walls, floor, ceilings, and into the air, made of vinyl and black masking tape. I liked that the masking tape parts that went into the air were very rough and cut by hand, yet still were flowing & beautiful overall. We also both loved the Hells sculptures by kids who made very specific buddhist style hells and then described them in a video. Best thing ever!

On the ride back we were going to get off the J at 30th and go to Mitchell's. The J train ahead of us broke down so we were stuck. Two very nice people on the train lifted my scooter down and then i was able to jump the curb okay. That zipr scooter is way tougher than it looks!

We had to go from 18th and Church to Van Ness and get the Mission bus. Then walked to Mitchells. Then were waiting and realized they were on 40 and our number was 98. But the guy next to us had accidentally gotten two tickets, so he gave us 59 and ice cream was possible again. Oh, buko (young coconut) ice cream with lumps of actual young coconut in, how I love you. OMG.

I am playing ska and motown classics. From the bedroom i can hear moomin jump up from his computer and start dancing. i'm not getting up to peek but now I know which songs to put on his playlist in spotify.
