Orange goo

Full on bronchitis. Coughing up nasty orange chunks. Still feverish. Taking tylenol, guaifenesin, and codeine. Coughing hurts and being active makes me cough more. I hate it when this happens.

Luckily I have all of D.'s books on his kindle to plow through, and am playing FTL as well as Glitch.

Yesterday ate nothing but some gnocchi in chicken broth, which I'm having again for breakfast along with gallons of decaf tea and chai. Today as soon as the dim sum place opens I'm getting some dumplings and hot&sour soup.

My ankles feel great since I'm not walking around at all.

weird delirium

Fever up to 102.6. am taking more tylenol and will sleep again soon. It all hurts a lot. I am now moving into deliberate steam-and-cough mode as if I neglect it then coughing up the junk hurts so bad. I had to lie down on the bathroom floor. Just not good. In theory I am going to the rheumatologist Wednesday and getting a predisone shot but all that might have to be rescheduled. I fucking hope not. This beast had better be whipped soon. I wish I'd gotten an early flu shot.

I am reading REAMDE which is very very annoying, especially right after Ready Player One, Ken McLeod's manarchy, and keeping in mind Cory's book about the oppressed Chinese gold farming teenagers forming unions. I am only 17% of the way through the book though so perhaps stephenson's fake-objectivity that really looks like approval of the coded-masculine toughness and violence will turn to something else, but I seriously doubt it. This is why I get very annoyed with people telling me how awesomely feminist Snow Crash is. Someday I need to do a detailed close reading of that book.
