Pain holiday

I had this moment today of not being in any pain. It was about 2 hours after I took prednisone (day 2 of it, 40mg a day) All of a sudden I realized my back didn't hurt and my ankles were almost frisky. I stood up and I could get up from bed without it being a big procedure. I could walk small but normal steps without limping and it didn't hurt. I bent over facing straight ahead with my weight on both hips and could get back up again from being bent over. OMG! I couldn't stop smiling but also wanted to burst into tears! I stood on one leg just to test it! I could not quite put all my weight on my right leg (from the sacroiliac pain)

But then it started hurting again just a bit later. So, ow.

Annoying to have it come right back. But it gives me a lot of hope that maybe the constant pain will go away or get a lot less soon.

The injection sites are still sore and bruised-feeling deep down in the joint, but maybe this means the swelling is going down and the steroids are taking effect. It would be nice if I could get into any sort of comfortable position. This morning at 4am I woke up and spent a couple of hours sitting in the office chair because it's the least painful way to be for my back (though not good for ankles). voltaren + tylenol + hot tea and I was back asleep by 6.
