Enough bullshit about Ender's Game

You know what, it is now officially the 8 million and oneth time I have heard someone decry Orson Scott Card while bowing to the sacred cow of the greatness of Ender's Game, and in my own memory Ender's Game was a giant pile of Ayn Randian wanktastic whining bullshit, poisonous with sexism & patriarchy.

Its setup about genocide sucks harder than anything else about it and reads to me like one big long excuse for the innocence of white men who just had to do it to save (whoever) and didn't mean to actually do anything BAD... their hand slipped and oops, accidental atrocity! It is like the homosocial torturer training manual where boys get taught that because someone beat them up, it is now their personal duty to kill some other brutish fool. And while they were totally JUSTIFIED in kicking someone else's ass they also get to ANGST over it... endlessly.... while other people pity and take care of them and give them JOBS and stuff.

So if it is your personal children's liberation manual, or your teenage boy geek persecution manifesto, or whatever, I'm sorry: you were pwned. I'm going to reread that shit and take it apart brick by brick.

SO sick of hearing about that book.

True. In my experience, "libertarian" is usually code for "obnoxious, narcissistic little boy with daddy issues," but I have run across a few who are more thoughtful.
