Hack Ability blog

I'm going to commit to keep up this blog on DIY accessibility hacks:

http://www.hackabilityblog.com/

Anyone want to post there, even just once in a while: register yourself and let me know, and I'll enable you as a blog author. I can make you a nifty little avatar if you send me a photo or a link to a photo you don't mind using.

I want more engineers and hard core inventors too, and i'll write posts about their stuff and sites, but the hacks I come up with are usually very simple and craft based, so that's what I'm starting off with.

BTW it looks like the Instructables contest is going to happen this fall. I'm super excited about that!

OH OH OH I FORGOT TO TELL YOU. Mel Chua, who I met at CLS, is deaf and is an engineer and is going to grad school to learn to hack hearing aids and stuff. I told her I'd put you in touch. Her contact details are on her website at http://melchua.com/

Posted about this to a couple of UC Berkeley lists today -- one to the list for my office (the Disabled Students' Program office) and one to TRIO students (TRIO is the program that offers the non-mandated, supplemental services we give our students: graduation advice, tutoring, mentors, financial aid counseling, etc.). I love this blog so much already, and hope to get some stuff together to contribute.
