Polanski, ugh

I read just a few articles about Polanski and the person he was convicted of raping. It's amazing how many people think he should walk free -- even ones who think that the prosecution should be dropped to spare the woman he raped years ago any further media attention.

It all has me uncomfortably thinking. I hate Polanski, don't give a damn about any of his movies, or anything about him... he should rot in jail and then hell. Also, I don't worry about sparing the woman he raped at this point. I do care about her, and wish that people would leave her alone. She should get help and protection from excessive media attention. Yes it messes up her life. Already has though.

I also care about all the people Polanski probably raped since then and may still go right on raping. Throw that man's ass in jail already, people! I don't think anyone is too old and decrepit to keep right on using whatever power they have to keep on doing what they apparently love to do.

The people defending him? They can all fuck off and die.

They are all conveniently ignoring that the prosecution has already taken place. There is a guilty plea on the record. The state of California, in the person of a judge, would be legally justified in looking at the matter, adding "fled to avoid sentencing," and handing down the maximum sentence for sex with a child, which would not require any further testimony from anyone. Or the state could do that on the original conviction, and bring separate charges for jumping bail to avoid sentencing.

I have only seen one of his movies (and loved it), and have refused to watch any of them since I found out about the rape. Maybe he is a genius and a great artist, but I still don't care.
