Today I mostly stayed in bed, sat at the table to make a kale salad, read bits of _Petersburg_ and its amusing footnotes while looking at maps of the city and consulting Wikipedia, thought about travel plans, aimlessly poked the internet. I did my physical therapy exercises 3 times throughout the day. They hurt. Then went to Nosebridge in a taxi with D. It is much easier with him wrangling the wheelchair in and out of the cab and also doing the elevator doors (which are very heavy.) He brought us BBQ sandwiches, i sat on the couches and talked with my friend and her friend she brought, had a good gossip and then went off to maybe mess with some lilypad things.

But then remembered I wanted to try making the 3D printers work! I got all the way to the point where it should start extruding, then asked rayc if he knew anything about the printers. He didn't but he took me to R. who did know and who came to see where I was at... and he went OH I KNOW EXACTLY what it is. You are using version 2.9 and you need to go back down to 2.7. Apparently he spent an entire afternoon trying everything and then realized.

Ok then!

The printer worked immediately with the new version! I was very excited! I made a NB logo and then another one and then a very shabby looking but identifiable lego-compatible flat 1x2 brick. I would like to fiddle with fill rates and other settings to make Nicer Objects that are a little more solid, and then I'll eventually try to print the connecting struts to make a small geodesic dome.

The problem is though I had to stand up and sit down a lot of times to see into the printer which was on a high shelf. R. said he would move them down to the low shelf. I thought it would be okay standing up with the boots on, and it generally is but maybe not quite that many times. So I overdid things and it hurts more now. Doh! I have ice on both my ankles now.

It cheered me up hugely to go out. I need to be much more careful when I do. Stay in the chair, save all the walking for a) the particular exercises b) in the house to get to the bathroom and kitchen.

Tomorrow my goal is to go to the pool and just check it out and get in and see how the "disabled water exercise" class is (if it is a class) But not to do much. It will be enough work just to get there and get undressed and into the pool and then out and dressed again. Gah, exhausting just to think about that. Then home to rest and ice my ankles. Then at 3 I go to the doctor.

I need to make sure to try to take naps on the theory it will heal things faster or at least stop me from injuring things more.
