Grand adventure

I had a grand adventure yesterday scootering home all the way from 20th and Mission. My battery held up fine. I got to look into every shop I felt like looking into, got d.'s old phone fixed up with a replacement sim card since I lost my old (much beloved) phone, bought some white nectarines and assorted Italian cookies from an enticing bakery. The grocery store(s) at 25th or 26th are excellent and cheap!

My mom is here... I have vague plans to hang pictures today with her and then go swimming. Moomin will be here tonight!

Must not wear myself out walking around too much. Every day I do a little more but every day I also end up crying in pain and kind of in disbelief that it sucks so bad. Most of the day is decent, though! The trick is probably stopping activity before I want to stop (but I always DO!!) and maybe napping?

Finished Castledown, which was excellent and interesting though very melancholy on the meta level of thinking about why she wrote it and what it all meant. I'd like to read the one before it - The Broken Citadel. I'm having trouble predicting the first book; will it be more of a straight up girl goes to fantasy world book? That then is mega complicated and deepened by her growing up in book 2? Or will it be just as complicated and odd when she's a girl? Castledown strikes me as an important book! Very! Sadly... I'd never heard of it before ladyjax mentioned it at WisCon.

I should read Castledown again but now I want to read the other two that bookend it.
