So I have not seen Brave but my sister wrote the funniest review of a movie ever about it. Brave: Why I Was Super Disappointed.

Crying with laughter.... I love how it just builds up and then punches you right in the face.

I hated this sort of book when people were publishing them (except I *will* give dealing with dragons half of a free pass) and we've gone like 1 million light years beyond this bullshit and this is the best "they" can do with a movie? Fucking pathetic!

So damn pathetic. I'm not holding my breath.

Someone commented on your sister's post that the Princess and the Frog movie, the heroine spends more time as a frog then as a person of color.

I did see Brave, and I'm glad to see that pretty much everyone is having the same conversation afterwards.

Except for the people sitting behind me who were talking about how beautiful the Pixar version of Ireland was.

Hey, at least they didn't call it England....

Excellent review, your sister's. I imagine I'll see the movie eventually but keep this in mind.

I'm glad your sister has been calling it out. I've been having conversations the last few days about how low the bar is for media with women.

Did you see Melissa McEwen's post on Scottish stereotyping in the movie and how it stands in for racism? Another very interesting take.
