Long funny conversation with A. on the bus on the way to her day camp, about the mural with conductive paint that i want to make at noisebridge. she suggested painting a fake touchscreen on the wall. i like that! it would behave as part of Consenso.

She named the little stamped leather notebook (so much like something she would invent in a story) The Forest Notebook and there was instantly a whole society and ecosystem built around it. the humans of the forest make the notebooks. the wolves bring the hides to make the leather covers. lemurs or maybe firefoxes bring the tree bark and leaves for the paper. birds bring things to make string to keep it closed. eagles and foxes use their claws to carve the designs into the leather. Her book is called The Book of Stories. But it might have "ideas" in it too since my notebook has lists and ideas. It will not have diary entries... (boring!)

Talked with Isis at noisebridge and feeling kind of inspired to install pybrain (not that i know what to do with it) but it seems intriguing!

One of the things I recently learned to do from an old bookbinding manual is stamp leather bookcovers -- although I have been doing it as a field treatment for other leather goods. If A. is interested in reading about bookbinding, the manual is here.

Well, I am pretty sure I am not a sentient soul-bonded dragonwolf.

Heck, some afternoons I am not even sure I am sentient.

I did like learning how to diaper a rectangular field, though. I had always wondered how one did that properly, and now I know.

I did a wallet for [personal profile] amaliedageek last week using the technique in chapter xvi, which calls for tools that look quite a bit like my leather-stamping equipment. Although I did not mark up a piece of paper, I just marked it out on the wallet back and then cut it in with a swivel knife.
