badgerbagFinished The Birds Fall Down which I really, really loved. Am in the middle of Vernor V. book with the Tines in it which people have been trying to make me read for ages and which I keep mocking relentlessly now that I'm in it. The Tines are kind of neat but, really? Pale echo of actually good SF. The gender coding makes me flare my nostrils with rage. even the sentient trees are boy/girl which doesn't make ANY sense.
